Background

Steve graduated Cum Laude with a double major in Chemistry and Microbiology from Marymount College of Kansas. His academic work over the past twenty years consisted primarily of workshops and community college courses in business and training. In Fall, 2000, after studying for and passing the GRE, Steve began course work in the FSU Instructional Systems program with Emphasis in Open and Distance Learning. He has achieved a 4.0 grade point average in the course work while maintaining full time (in fact more than full time) employment.

ISD Internship

One of the requirements of the ISD program is completion of an approved internship prior to graduation. Steve engaged in an internship agreement with his then-employer, All About Staffing, a subsidiary of HCA Healthcare. The intership project, completed in Summer, 2003, involved a Program Evaluation of the support services (of which training was one facet) of the AAS Software Development group. Steve designed and administered an anonymous online survey utilizing ASP pages that was completed by AAS nationwide. He utilized the results of the survey, along with qualitative data, to assess the program for stakeholders and recommend improvements.
