I believe I have become moderately skilled in the area of design. During the three years I have spent in the FSU ISD program, I have learned to identify the various learning domains, using either Bloom's or Gagne's taxonomy, and to align both instruction and assessment with the specific human capability to be achieved. I have also gained significant knowledge in various instructional theories, and to design instruction that encompasses aspects of various instructional theories, with every effort to match the approach to individual and organizational preferences and needs that are present. By first identifying the exact outcome that is required and the context in which that outcome is to be performed, along with the unique characteristics of the learner population, feel well equipped to design learning programs that have a high probability of achieving the desired outcomes while respecting both differences in learning capability and learner interests.
