In EME6415, as a part of a group that was assigned to use Rapid Prototyping methodology to teach the creation of a drag and drop interaction using Authorware, our learner analysis indicated a significant difference in entry level abilities among our target group (6415learnercharacteristics.doc page 1). As a result, in the lesson we utilized a flexible navigation system in our design that the user to easily obtain more detail and even a demonstration of a technique if necessary, while enabling the experienced user to easily avoid it. For an example of how we used this strategy, open the tutorial (tutorial.exe) and select "Creating Background Objects", click "Next" and then "1.1". Here the more advanced learner can simply read the instructions, where the learner seeking more detail can view a demonstration (show me), can view rollover definitions of terms, or can view an image of the flow line after completing that step.
