In EME 5603, I selected mixed media for the "How to Calculate Your Own Bonus" lesson (5603bonuslesson.doc) in order to effectively simulate the performance environment. The main lesson material was delivered in a print based document that was posted on the corporate intranet. This was to address the target population characteristics (5603learnerperformanceanlaysis.doc page 1) of being a small number of widely scattered individuals, all of whom had access to the intranet. Intranet was chosen rather than internet due to the sensitive nature of the course content, which dealt with corporate compensation policies. In order to clarify the somewhat complex intranet reporting procedures that were contained in the lesson, I included screen shots of the procedures (page 5 of the lesson). Because the skills to be acquired in the lesson included use of an Excel spreadsheet, and because the target group consisted of computer professionals, I utilized an excel spreadsheet as a medium for exercises (page 15 of the lesson), simulating the actual calculations to be performed.
