Competency-Media Utilization in Presentations

During the three years I have been in the ISD program at FSU, I have utilized media in a number of presentations. In my employment at Ocwen Technology Xchange, as Training Director, I was not only in charge of instructional design, but training and managing trainers as well. During that time, my ability using Powerpoint has evolved from the typical usage of bullet points and graphs to more sophisticated presentations utilizing embedded mind maps and illustrations that lend more impact to the presentation. By incorporating Flash animations into presentations when appropriate, I have been able to make them more impactful than the typical presentations. I have coordinated the presentation media production and delivery for large groups, including a convention audience of more than 800 people, as well as learned to improve web page design via more effective use of typography. By utilizing Webex desktop sharing as a presentation tool for small groups who are separated by long distances, I have been able to deliver impactful synchronous distance presentations.
