Goals
Quite simply, my professional goal is to deliver maximum value for my employer while providing real learning opportunities to stakeholders in the companies products and services, meanwhile continuing to grow my owns skills by applying a systems approach to learning and performance management. By utilizing a disciplined approach to instructional systems design, I hope to eliminate wasted training dollars that would otherwise be spent on inappropriate training or non-knowledge related performance issues, delivering performance interventions that are targeted to the specific skills required for the situation and are respectful of the time and interests of participants. I also plan to continuously explore emerging technologies for their potential application to training and knowledge management, applying technology to the training arena where it enhances learning and the value proposition. I believe that by optimizing the value of training delivered, I can enrich both my employer and myself.
Thumbnail Career History
After exploring the technical field and business operations management during the early part of my career, I settled up a career in Training. Upon moving into training management, I discovered both a personal talent and a compelling business need for Instructional Design. I have managed the training function for a 9000 employee organization, led the enterprise training effort for a mission-critical technology implementation, led e-learning design and development projects, and operated my own business.
Experience has included the food processing, restaurant, retail, financial services, software development, and healthcare domains. Instructional delivery platforms have included print, classroom, video, CDROM, electronic performance support systems, and both synchronous and asynchronous web courses.
